Judging qualifications:
At Brazoswood High School, I served as President of the Speech and Debate team, qualifying for UIL State CX my senior year, reaching District my sophomore and junior year. All three years on the team I competed and placed in Extemp during invitationals. Since graduating, I have returned to Brazoswood to periodically host CX and LD debate seminars. Most recently, I judged all LD debate rounds at the Longhorn Classic. Though I have judged more LD this past year, I prefer CX.

Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 6
Judging approach: stock issues
Policy priority: Equal
Evidence philosophy: quality
Paradigm: I do NOT like rapid fire. Topicality will be considered during rounds. I don't mind counter plans, but make it good. Disads are acceptable. Rebuttals should include summary of stock issues. The winner of the round will be the winner of the key arguments in the round.

Rounds judged: 20
Approach: Equal
The major factor in determining winner of the round is value and criteria. Crystallize final rebuttal with voting issues. I keep a detailed flow.
