Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 6
Judging approach: Tabula Rasa
Policy priority: Equal
Evidence philosophy: quality
Paradigm: As a an LD-er at heart, communication is key for me. If I can't understand a debater, it doesn't matter what they're saying. Debaters need to be extremely organized and lay it out so that I can flow easily. Point out important issues and drops. ALWAYS impact every single drop - tell me why it's important! Warrant every claim and impact every warrant. Use your argmentation skills. Give me voting issues. Tell me why you won - and prove it.

Rounds judged: 10
Approach: Equal
Communication is always key - don't spread like a maniac, this isn't CX. Have a conversational tone - it's easier in LD to lay it out and keep it simple. Know your case and know how to answer questions about it. KNOW your criterion and provide theory to back it up. Use the criterion and use it well. Show me how you weigh the resolution with it. Be organized. Hit every argument - there's no excuse not to. Roadmap, signpost, and give voting issues. Break it down at the end - dont' try and fit the entire round into your last speech - tell me how it is and tell me exactly why you won.
