Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: policy maker
Policy priority: Equal
Evidence philosophy: equal
Paradigm: I believe that debate is still a communication competition. Speed and a mountain of evidence should not sacrifice the art and skill of debate. I want you to show me that you can apply logic and solid thinking as you compose and extend upon arguments. Having stated the belief in communication skills, I can't stress enough the importance of composure and good sportsmanship as you display your debate skills. This is a terrific and worthwhile activity, and I desire to see people demonstrate the positive aspects rather than the cutthroat nature.

I love the skill of taking a topic that seems mundane and taking it to a deeper level! I'm looking for people to be able to apply logic and sound reasoning skills as well as something to back it up. In addition, the afore-mentioned blurb about communication applies to L-D as well.
