I have particpated in several UIL academic competitions throughout highschool. I have participated in Persuasive Speaking and placed 2nd and 3rd at the district level 3 out of 4 years. I placed 5th at regionals one year. I have participated in Cross Examination Debate and placed 3rd at the district level 3 out of 4 years. I placed 1st my final year and made it to the octa-finals at the state debate tournament. I participated in Current Issues & Events one year and placed 1st at the district level. I have also participated in Poetry Interpretation and placed 4th at the district level one year. I have taken a Public Speaking course focusing on extemporaneous speaking at Texas A&M University and made an A. I have extensive knowledge of the various rules and criteria for C-X debate and extemporaneous speaking.

Evidence philosophy: quality
Paradigm: I believe that the stock issues are very important. I place the most emphasis on solvency, inherency, harms and significance. Substance and the quality of evidence are also very important in my decision making. Finally, the speakers should communicate very clearly.
