Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 6
Judging approach: tabula rosa
Policy priority: Issues
Evidence philosophy: quality
Paradigm: If you ask me in round for my paradigms I will say I am open for anything; it is your round so I will adapt to you. Have fun with the round and make it a good, fun, and educational experience for all of us in the round. I am open to all types of arguments, and I will judge the round according to what is run. While I may prefer a more progressive round, I have no issues judging a pure stock issues round.

LD

Rounds judged: 12
Approach: Issues
Philosophy:
In an Ld round, I look for both sides to give me a standard to evaluate the round. In the event of an agreement on the standards debate, I look for which side via their contentions is best able to uphold the standard. When there is a conflicting standard, as their normally is, who ever wins the standard debate will then cause me to evaluate both sides, and their contentions under this common standard. I am open to all types of cases including non traditional cases. I am fine with speed, and overall I let the debaters dictate the round.
