Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 20
Judging approach: tabula rosa
Policy priority: Equal
Evidence philosophy: quality
Paradigm: I openly approach the round with nothing leaning either way. I believe it is the debaters job to sway me and to provide the necessary evidence that either demonstrates the need for change and the advocacy of an effective plan (aff) or to show that the affirmative fails to provide such a plan (neg). The round is one of competing policies as well as schools of thought. The debaters have to fight intellectually and outweigh in quality their opponents.

Rounds judged: 20
Approach: Issues
Value. Value. Value. At the very core the debaters must defend a reasonable and meaningful value and demonstrate the necessity of this value. A need and desire for the value must be presented and I must believe by the end of that round that without said value, my life or the aspect of the topic is lost.
