Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged:
Judging approach: tabula rosa
Policy priority: Equal
Evidence philosophy: quality
Paradigm: Tabula rasa, I will keep topicality, significance, inherency, solvency, adv/da in mind but focus on those which the debater points out to be the more important based on the evidence presented. However, the quality of the evidence will generally overcome poor quality evidence at a higher quantity.

Rounds judged:
Approach: Equal
In LD the value is paramount, the debater must prove how their case best achieves their value or their opponents does not. The negative may win by undermining the importance of the affirmative's value and proving that their position achieves a better value or even achieves the affirmative's value better. The affirmative may win by proving the importance of their value as superior or equal to the negative's and that they achieve that value.
