FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TX— The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League ruled on two cases for exception to forfeiture of contest and four cases of student-athlete eligibility on Wednesday.

The committee granted requests from Humble Kingwood Park High School and Hemphill High School for exception to forfeiture of contest. It was determined that the schools would not have to forfeit any games in which an ineligible player participated.

In other action, student-athletes from Corpus Christi Carroll High School and Corpus Christi King High School were denied their appeals for varsity eligibility upholding the previous rulings of the district executive committees. After hearing testimony from all interested parties, it was ruled that the student-athletes changed schools for athletic reasons.

Student-athletes from Sherman High School and Laredo United South High School had their appeals to regain varsity eligibility granted after the committee ruled that the student-athletes did not change schools for athletic reasons.
