AUSTIN, TX- Three student athletes will remain ineligible for varsity athletics, and a school is issued a penalty as a result of decisions handed down by the State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League on Thursday.
The State Executive Committee denied appeals for varsity eligibility of student athletes from Panhandle High School, Canyon High School and Lancaster High School. After hearing testimony from all interested parties, the committee voted to uphold previous district executive committee decisions ruling the students ineligible for varsity athletics for changing schools for athletic purposes.
In other business, North Zulch High School was issued a public reprimand and one-year probation for violating the number of games per school week limitation during the 2004-05 softball season.
