DOWNLOAD THE Academic Coordinator's Manual that is about as step-by-step guide to accomplish your duties. It is the first link on the page referenced above.

Register as an Academic Coordinator while you are on that page with the REGISTER link on the right hand side of the page.

UPDATE the Spring Meet Entry system with your information if you are the coordinator. You will need to acquire a UT EID if you do not already have one. If you do not have a UT EID, or if you believe you already have a UT EID and password, but need assistance, please go to UT EID Self Service Tools on the page.

The Spring Meet Entry system is where you will enter your students for the district competition. The deadline is 10 days before the first day of competition. However, the meet director may establish an earlier date. There is no other registration needed to enter the competition.

District Academic Meet Directors who are hosting the district meet must register online by the October 1 deadline, along with the Spring Meet Chair, to provide us with contact information so we can keep you updated through the year.

You should have information from your principal or superintendent about the DEC (UIL District Executive Committee) decisions where the dates and information were decided for the Academic events for District UIL. If not, then I would suggest you getting in touch with other Academic Coordinators from schools in your UIL district to get that information. I hope that the coordinators met and made suggestions to the DEC for those decisions.

Lastly, I'm pleased to announce that Dr. Bradley Wilson will be taking over the contest directorship for CI&E. Dr. Wilson is an assistant professor and director of student media at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. He advises the weekly newspaper and broadcast operations, is editor for the national Journalism Education Association and he is active in local and regional associations to improve the quality of journalism education. Dr. Wilson is no stranger to UIL. He was managing editor of the Leaguer and assistant academic director from 1997-1999. He coordinated conferences and numerous contests and was active with the CI&E contest during that time. Check out the CI&E webpage for important information and a note from the contest director. http://www.uiltexas.org/academics/current-issues-and-events

As usual, do not hesitate to contact the academic staff by email or phone if we can ever be of assistance
